UK Screeds are the leading flooring screeding contractors in the UK, with no fewer than 11 branches, so we can lay your screed wherever you are.

Liquid screed has many benefits for contractors, not the least of which is that it is far faster to lay than traditional sand and cement screed. Our teams can lay as much as 100 square metres in 45 minutes, and up to 2,000 square metres a day. This is reckoned to be about 20 times as fast as laying a traditional sand and cement screed by hand using trowels.

Not only that, it is self-levelling. This means that it is ideal for underfloor heating because, being liquid, it totally envelops all the heating pipes leaving no voids. This ensures that there will be no cold spots in the room above. Furthermore, our liquid screed is almost twice as thermally efficient as a traditional sand and cement screed, so it uses less energy to heat the room, resulting in ongoing savings for the life of the building.

To be fair, the cost of the materials is around half as much again as sand and cement. However, when you take into consideration the fact that the speed of laying is so much faster than a traditional screed, there is a very big saving on labour, so the overall cost, after sanding, usually works out at about the same.

However, another very big benefit is the speed of drying. Our liquid screeds will be dry enough to walk on within 24 – 48 hours, so they don’t cause any delay to other contractors who need to work on the site.

In addition, we use the very latest laser machinery to ensure that you finish up with a very flat and level surface, which is usually to at least Surface Regularity 2, and most often SR1.

As we said, when it dries, the screed does produce a layer of laitance, and this needs to be removed before the final floor surface is laid. However, our team will return about a week after the screed is poured and sand the floor for you so that everything is in perfect condition.
